Students enjoy regular access to world-class artists and ensembles that are members or visitors of the city of Charlotte including the Charlotte Symphony, Opera Carolina, Charlotte Ballet, New Music Charlotte, and many national touring shows! Many of our faculty members perform with these ensembles and share their wealth of experience with our students.
Performance and Marching Band Scholarships
Every year, competitive scholarships are available to music majors. A large number of marching band scholarships are available and several more competitive performance based scholarships are also available. All scholarships are talent based and are automatically considered during your audition for admission. All prospective students must create an account at https://ninerscholars.charlotte.edu/ and select applicable music scholarships to receive scholarship offers.
Venues
Students have access to a variety of state-of-the-art performance and classroom venues. Both the Belk Theater and Rowe Recital host a plethora of student, faculty, and guest artist performances throughout the year. All of our rehearsal and classroom spaces are equipped with smart classroom technology including computers, projectors, and sound systems to optimize rehearsals and instruction. Practice rooms are available 24/7 to music majors via card swipe access and include several Wenger Smart Practice Rooms.
